Teresa Robinson – Hansen-Spear
Teresa Ann Robinson, age 64, of Quincy, died Sunday, October 20, 2024, at 9:51 am in
Blessing Hospital.
Teresa was born January 28, 1960, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Leroy and
Mary F. Eiland Downs. She married Sheldon Robinson on July 5, 1992, in Canton, MO.
Teresa grew up in Canton, MO, and graduated from Canton High School. She held various
positions in Quincy over the years, including: managing two tanning salons, at Supra Telecom,
manager at Team Express, accountant at O’Donnell Pest Control, and as a manager at Lowes.
She retired from the accounting department at Knapheide manufacturing in Quincy.
Teresa was a 30+ year member at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish in Quincy. Prior to that,
she was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Canton, MO. She was heavily involved with
Quincy Cursillo, Quincy TEC, and attended 4th Day Renewal. During the Covid pandemic,
Teresa also devoted her time to making masks which were distributed in the Quincy community.
If you really knew Teresa, you’d describe her as someone who loved extremely hard. She had
this unique ability to see the best parts of people, and to love them for who they are. Teresa had
a couple nicknames that she loved to go by, such as “Mama T” given to her by the friends of her
children. Her other nickname “Queen B”, which of course stuck given her personality. Teresa is
someone who didn’t struggle to make a decision, she knew exactly what she wanted. Arguably
her best quality, Teresa always kept up with her friends and family, and always made them feel
loved in the deepest sense. Her loved ones will dearly miss her daily updates and inspirational
quotes that she would post every morning, just to brighten the day of those who saw it.
Everything Teresa did was for the love of her friends and family. If Teresa was here, she would
want to highlight the incredible relationship she had with her new granddaughter, Teddy.
Survivors in addition to her husband, Sheldon, include: two children, Nathan (Katie) Waterman
of Lakeville, MN; Ciara (Brett) Stiles of Quincy, and a granddaughter, Teddy Stiles; seven
siblings, Lisa Parson of Quincy, Robert (Tamara) Downs of Augusta, KS, Cindy (Kirk) Vollbracht
of Camp point, IL, James Downs of Quincy, Angela Power of Canton, MO, Chris (Mac) Downs
of Ravenel, SC, and Shelia (Michael) Gafford of Belleville, IL; her father-in-law, Willie J.
Baldwin; numerous other in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and too many wonderful
friends to mention.
Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles L. Downs; a sister, Robin
Hillebrenner; and her mother-in-law, Karen Baldwin.
