Timothy W. Walker, age 73, of Liberty, died on Friday, March 21, 2025 at 9:34 p.m. in Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Timothy was born on December 24, 1951 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Quincy, a son of Wayne B. and Dorothy Helen Little Walker. On January 14, 1972, he married Sandra K. Tournear in Salem United Church of Christ in Quincy.

Timothy attended Quincy public schools and Quincy High School. He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, from August of 1969 until his honorable discharge in October of 1971. Timothy worked a variety of jobs, but his longest position was at Quincy Compressor, where he was employed as a machinist.

In his spare time, Timothy enjoyed fishing and hunting, particularly for deer and turkey. He also enjoyed wood working in his shop at home. Timothy was a sports fan, especially of the Chicago Cubs. He was also an avid fan of Payson Indian sports, where his grandsons played.

Survivors include two children: Timothy W. (Kathy) Walker Jr. of Quincy and Shanna Church of Payson, IL; two grandsons: Jonathan D. “J.D.” Church of Payson, IL and Thomas B. Walker of Quincy; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Timothy was preceded in death by his parents and five siblings: Charles “Pete” Walker, Phyllis Jean Haynes, Wayne “Sonny” Walker, Terry Lee Walker, and Diane K. Schaffer.

Visitation: 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home.

Service: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Rains officiating.

Burial: Greenmount Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 37 and the United States Marine Corps Funeral Honor Detail.
