Shoemate

Funeral services for Wanda Alleen Shoemate, 94, of Monroe City, formerly of Perry, will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, February 26, 2024, at Perry Baptist Church, with pastor Steve Goughnour officiating. Burial will follow at Lick Creek Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
Mrs. Shoemate passed away at 1:43 AM, Friday, February 23, 2024, at Monroe City Manor.
Wanda was born on March 23, 1929, in Ralls County, the daughter of William and Lillian Turnbough Shaver. She married William Albert Shoemate on September 22, 1948, in Hannibal and he preceded her in death on August 14, 2004
Survivors include one son; Jim (Deann) Shoemate of Monroe City, one daughter; Alberta (Larry) Lochridge of Mexico, four grandchildren; Angie Stuart of Rush Hill, Patricia (Travis) Adair of Columbia, Todd (Jill) Shoemate of Monroe City, and Deidra (Sean) McKay of Hannibal, seven great grandchildren, five step great grandchildren, and eight step great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters; Eva Lee Shinn, Maude Moss, and Betty Hays, one daughter; Mary Jane Shoemate, and one grandson in law; Bruce Stuart.
Mrs. Shoemate was a lifetime area resident and a Christian by faith. She was a local 4-H leader for many years and enjoyed quilting in her spare time. Most of all, Wanda loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Todd Shoemate, Mason Shoemate, Sean McKay, Landon McKay, Lanxton McKay, Travis Adair, and Chase Adair.
