Wilfred-Altgilbers-PIC

Wilfred T. Altgilbers, age 92 of 1516 Chestnut, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 in Blessing Hospital. He was born on October 9, 1932 in Quincy, the son of Frank & Josephine (Mast) Altgilbers. Wilfred married Kathleen Celeste ‘Katie” Kahs on June 11, 1955. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2020 during the beginning of the Covid epidemic.

Will worked at Gardner Denver in the Office for more than 40 years. Will retired in 1994.

During their retirement over the years they enjoyed belonging to the Waterbugs at Q.U., going to mass and out to eat with the same group of friends for many years. Many trips with family and friends were also enjoyed. One of the most memorable was going to Florida in 1975 with five kids and Grandma in a station wagon! Can’t believe how much fun we had! Also Mom and Dad took the train to Colorado for their 57th anniversary.

Over the years they were involved in numerous activities including Ladies of Charities, Meals on Wheels, and St. Francis Church.

Mom will be remembered for making the best apple pies and always telling us “Don’t forget your jacket.” And Dad eating his favorite meal of quarter pounder with cheese, Cheetos puffs and a diet coke from Mc Donalds. And don’t forget he loved chocolate covered marshmallow eggs!

We were honored and blessed to have them as our parents and they will be missed forever. The family would also like to thank Dr. Ghanekar and the nurses and CNAs at Blessing Hospital for their compassionate care.
