William E. “Bill” Ashmore – Hansen-Spear

William E. “Bill” Ashmore, age 77, of Quincy, died on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 3:38 a.m. in his home.
Bill was born on February 11, 1948 in Riverside, New Jersey, the son of Emerson Melvin and Margret A. Penn Ashmore. He married Marie A. DeSutter on November 26, 1976 in Palmyra, NJ. She survives.
Bill attended Palmyra High School in New Jersey. Following high school, he briefly worked at Motown Records in Philadelphia, PA. Bill had a lifelong interest in mechanics and spent much of his early years involved in drag racing.
After he and Marie moved to Quincy in 1977, he worked for over 20 years at Hadler International, where he held roles as a mechanic, shop foreman, and salesman. Following his time at Hadler, he continued his career at Fierge Auto Sales until his retirement. In his free time, Bill enjoyed golfing and bowling.
In addition to his wife, survivors include: a daughter, Kimberly Harvey of Quincy; his grandson, Sage (Morgan) Meleney of Quincy, IL; his granddaughter, Trinity Fasnacht of Quincy; a great-grandson, Kayce Allan Moss; a sister, Edith Krug of Anderson, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, James W. Ashmore; and two sisters: Katherine Rodgers and Dorothy Welden.
