Beardstown man facing forgery charges in Hancock County

BOWEN, Ill. — A Beardstown man is in the Hancock County Jail and charged with four counts of forgery.

Deputies with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department were investigating forged checks passed at a business in Augusta and a business in Bowen. The suspect, Adam T. Rice, 57, was identified, located and arrested at a residence in Bowen. 

Deputies have recovered several items purchased with the forged checks. The investigation is ongoing. Further charges may be filed.
