Brown County Sheriff’s Department blotter from Jan. 4-13, 2023

On 01/04/2023 at 2:36 AM Louis R. Martina of Higden AR struck a deer on CR 700N. Damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00 and no injuries were reported. 

On 01/07/2023 at 12:55 AM James E. Esela of Mt. Sterling struck a deer on Cr 1250E.  Damage to the vehicle was over $1500.00 and no injuries were reported.

On 01/07/2023 at 11:45 AM Henry D. Wegs of Mt. Sterling was attempting to turn off IL 107 onto CR 460N 775E and was rear ended by a vehicle driven by William L. Schaffer II of Quincy. Mr. Schaffer received citations for Following to Closely, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Failure to Speed to Avoid and Accident and given a court date of 02/27/2023. Damage to both vehicles were over $1500.00 and no injuries were reported.

On 01/08/2023 at 7:05 PM Ervin C. Martin of Pleasant Hill struck a deer on Rt. 107/Zion Church.  No injuries were reported, and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.

On 01/12/2023 at 5:32 AM Blake A. Smith of Virginia struck a deer on US 24/CR 1300E.  No injuries were reported, and damage to the vehicle was over $1500.

On 01/06/2023 at 2:26 PM Anthony D. McNeely of Jacksonville received citations for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Expired Registration on IL 99 and given a court date of 02/27/2023.

On 01/10/2023 at 2:15 PM Hunter B. Carpenter of Jacksonville received a citation for No Valid Registration on Rt. 99/CR 1250 E and given a court date of 02/27/2023.

On 01/13/2023 at 6:52 AM Robert B. Long of Jacksonville received a citation for Expired Registration and given a court date of 02/27/2023.
