CARTHAGE, Ill. — A Carthage man was placed in the Hancock County Jail early Monday morning after fleeing from officers.

A deputy with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department attempted to make a traffic stop in rural Carthage on a silver Infiniti Q30 at 1:15 a.m. Monday. The Infiniti had registration on it which belonged on a Ford truck.

The driver, Scot A. Flora, 53, of Carthage did not pull over and fled from the deputy. The deputy apprehended Flora after he eventually stopped at a rural Carthage address.

Flora was transported to the Hancock County Jail where he was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a peace officer, operating an uninsured vehicle and improper display of registration.
