Charges filed following weekend domestic dispute in Hannibal
On Saturday, December 4, the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charged Shawn T. Nichols, 54 of Hannibal, with Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Ted L. Kealen, 33 of Hannibal, was charged with Domestic Assault.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred on Friday, December 3 just after 6 p.m.
Officers with the Hannibal Police Department responded to a report of gun fire at South Hayden and Willow. As Officers were responding it was reported one vehicle was fleeing the area. Officers were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a traffic stop.
Nichols was found in possession of a firearm and taken into custody without incident. It was determined Kealen had been involved in a domestic disturbance with a female in the 600 block of Willow. Nichols had fired the gun due to the domestic disturbance. Kealen was taken into custody without incident. The female had minor injuries and no one was injured as result of the gun fire.
Nichols and Kealen were taken to the Marion County Jail. Their bonds were set at $25,000.00 cash or surety. Nichols has posted bond, Kealen remains in the Marion County Jail.
