Ewing man arrested at Johnnie’s Station, child taken into protective custody

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious person at Johnnie’s Station on Highway 6 in Ewing, Missouri.

Upon arrival, deputies found Nicholas Colt Carper, age 28, of rural Ewing. Carper appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance and a subsequent investigation led to his arrest for possession of marijuana and a controlled substance identified as Alprazolam.

A small child was taken into protective custody and given to a relative.

Carper was charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, a class D felony and released on a $5000 bond with 10% cash allowed.
