Five Quincyans arrested after investigation into multiple reports of burglaries
QUINCY — Five Quincy residents were arrested and lodged in the Adams County Jail last week after an investigation of multiple reports of burglaries to storage units and residences in Adams County since April.
Tools, electronics and firearms were among the items reported missing after the various burglaries. Several suspects were developed during the investigation and eventually arrested by deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department.
Multiple search warrants were executed during the week of June 6 by the Adams County Sheriff’s Department, the Quincy Police Department and the West Central Illinois Drug Task Force. During the execution of those search warrants, numerous stolen firearms were located and seized. Also located were several stolen items from the above mentioned burglaries that had occurred in Adams County.
The following Quincy residents were arrested and jailed:
Zachary A. Laffey, 27, charged with burglary (six counts), possession of a stolen firearm, possession of firearm by a felon and outstanding Missouri warrants.
Saveon SK Lewis, 23 years, charged with possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Laura M. Fowler, 34, charged with burglary and theft.
Austin M. Wester, 24, charged with possession of methamphetamine and wanted on two Adams County arrest warrants.
William A. Flot, 47, charged with burglary and no valid driver’s license.
The investigation is ongoing. Additional arrests are pending.
