Griggsville man facing multiple charges after traffic stop on Saturday

GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. — The Pike County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 25 on County Highway 2 near 420th Lane in Griggsville on a black 2000 Chevrolet truck.

After an investigation, a passenger, Gerald W. Kirgan, 46, of Griggsville was arrested on the following charges:

  • Unlawful possession of methamphetamine,
  • Unlawful possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle by a passenger. 
  • Illegal transportation of alcohol by a passenger.  

Kirgan was lodged in the Pike County Jail.
