Griggsville woman in jail after allegedly threatening public official

GRIGGSVILLE, Ill. — A Griggsville woman is lodged in the Pike County Jail on a charge of threatening a public official.

The investigation began when the Pike County Sheriff’s Department became aware of a threat to the immediate family of a public official posted on a social media website. Law enforcement officials determined Rachelle R. Gress, 25, was responsible for the threat. The Pike County Sheriff’s Department arrested Gress at her residence on Sunday, May 22. 

Gress was charged Monday by the Pike County State’s Attorney Office. Bond was set at $50,000. Awarrant also was issued for Gress for petition to revoke bond. Bond was set at $75,000.
