Hamilton woman facing drug charges after arrest during early morning traffic stop

HAMILTON, Ill. — A Hamilton woman is lodged in the Hancock County Jail and is facing drug charges.

A deputy with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department observed a black 2010 Lincoln commit a traffic violation at the intersection of U.S. 136 and Second Street in Hamilton at 1:36 a.m. May 11. A check on the license plate revealed it was expired and suspended. A sheriff’s office canine was deployed and positively alerted on the Lincoln. 

The driver, Katrina M. Scott, 32, was found to be in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine, as well as a glass smoking pipe used to smoke methamphetamine. Scott was placed under arrest and transported to the Hancock County Jail.
