Hannibal man facing charge of distribution of a controlled substance
HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man faces drug charges after he unsuccessfully fled from officers in a vehicle.
Officers with the Hannibal Police Department attempted to stop a vehicle at 5:39 a.m. Sunday, May 29, in relation to a drug investigation initiated by the Anti-Crime Enforcement Squad. The vehicle fled from the officers, and the driver went to a residence in the 1600 block of Hope Street.
The Hannibal Police Special Response Team was activated and executed a search warrant at the residence. During a course of the search, a large amount of a substance believed to be methamphetamine was located. As a result, Nathan K. Anderson, 43, of Hannibal was arrested and placed on a 24-hour hold.
A warrant was issued in the 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County charging Anderson with distribution of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and resisting a stop by fleeing. Bond was set at $100,000. Anderson remains in custody at the Marion County Jail.
