Hannibal man found with meth after arrest for driving stolen utility cart through Sodalis Nature Preserve
HANNIBAL, Mo. — A Hannibal man is in the Marion County Jail after he was arrested Wednesday while driving a utility cart through Sodalis Nature Preserve.
The 10th Judicial Circuit Court of Marion County issued warrants Wednesday, July 13 for Dustin L. Pagett, 30, who was charged with tampering with a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.
At approximately 10:47 a.m., he was driving a utility cart through the nature preserve. A Hannibal Parks and Recreation employee attempted to stop Pagett by flagging him down, but Pagett ignored the employee and continued to drive through the nature preserve. He was stopped on a lower trail by police. Pagett was taken into custody without incident.
Upon his arrest, Pagett was found in possession of a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine. The utility cart had been reported stolen the previous day from the 1200 block of Country Club. Pagett’s bond was set at $25,000.
