Hannibal police takes juvenile into custody after burglarizing two businesses

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Detectives with the Hannibal Police Department took a juvenile into custody on Thursday for burglarizing two area businesses over a two-day period. 

The first incident occurred at approximately 3:30 a.m. Friday, July 22. The juvenile located an unsecured door at a closed business in the 3600 block of Stardust. While inside the store, the juvenile took several items.

The second incident occurred on Saturday, July 23. The juvenile entered a business in the 500 block of the Huck Finn Shopping Center during regular business hours and hid as the business closed for the evening. Once the employees left, the juvenile attempted to break into the firearm display but was unsuccessful in obtaining any firearms. The juvenile then removed other items from the store and left the area. Items taken from the store were recovered. 

The juvenile was transported to a juvenile detention facility by the 10th Circuit Juvenile Office.
