EWING, Mo. — A Ewing man is in the Lewis County Jail and faces fourth-degree assault charges.

Deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department responded to a 911 call on Tuesday, May 14, in Ewing. A female victim reported she had been assaulted by her boyfriend, who had fled. The deputies responded to the residents and contacted the victim.

The suspect, identified as Austin Davis, 22, was observed driving through Ewing and leaving the area. The victim reported Davis was armed and dangerous and had stated “the cops were going to have to shoot him.”

A deputy found Davis traveling west of Ewing on Missouri 6 and apprehended him without incident.  Davis was lodged in the Lewis County Jail.

Davis has been charged with assault in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor, by Lewis County Prosecutor Chelsea Fellinger. Associate Court Judge Corey Moon issued a warrant for Davis. He remains in the Lewis County Jail in lieu of a $2,500 cash-only bond.
