Lewis County Sheriff arrests LaBelle man on multiple meth charges
On July 28, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office placed Bryan E. Wurtzberger, 53, of La Belle, Missouri under arrest stemming from a citizen contact in La Belle. While on routine patrol, Sergeant Devon Willis observed Wurtzberger operating a motor vehicle on Missouri Highway 6 and pull into a local business.
Believing Wurtzberger did not have a valid license, Sergeant Willis spoke with Wurtzberger at the business in regards to his driver license status as it had previously been suspended or revoked. During his investigation, it was determined that Mr. Wurtzberger was operating the motor vehicle without a valid license and was intoxicated.
Wurtzberger was also found in possession of methamphetamine and was taken into custody and subsequently charged with one count of delivery of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class C felony, one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, a class D felony and one count of tampering with physical evidence in a felony prosecution, a class E felony.
Wurtzberger’s arrest led to the issuance of a search warrant for a rural La Belle residence. Further charges are pending as a result of the search warrant and Wurtzberger remains lodged in the Lewis County Jail on a no bond warrant.
