Macomb man charged with burglaries of vehicles in Adams, Brown counties

QUINCY — A Macomb man is in the Adams County Jail and has been charged with the burglaries of several vehicles in Adams County and Brown County.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department took several reports on or about Oct. 15 of vehicles being burglarized in the southwest area of Quincy. After a significant investigation, officers found surveillance footage that assisted them with developing a suspect and a suspect vehicle. 

This information was disseminated and utilized after the investigation of a stolen vehicle in Brown County that identified the suspect as Toby S. Chambers, 25. Following the arrest of Chambers, officers found numerous stolen items during the course of this arrest that included several firearms taken during burglaries that occurred in Quincy. 

Chambers is lodged in the Adams County Jail. He faces charges of burglary and possession of stolen firearms. The investigation is ongoing. Assistance was provided by the sheriff’s departments in Pike County and Brown County.
