Manhunt in Lewis County leads to arrest of Rockport couple wanted on alleged parole violations

DURHAM, Mo. — A married couple from Rockport, Ill., is lodged in the Clark County Jail after a manhunt in on Monday in Lewis County.

A press release from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department said deputies with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department and troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence approximately one mile east of Durham. When they arrived, a male and female attempted to flee. The female, Jaime Walker, 39, was captured immediately after a short foot pursuit. 

The male, Jason Walker, 46, who lived at the home, fled on foot into a wooded area. A perimeter was established, and the sheriff’s department’s drone operator was called to the scene. Deputy Jason Slater found Walker hiding in a cornfield. Walker then walked out of the cornfield and was taken into custody. 

Both Jason and Jaime Walker had previous active felony warrants for their arrest. Both are alleged to have violated conditions of felony probation through the Missouri Division of Probation and Parole. 

Jaime Walker was sentenced to five years of probation in 2021 after she pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance in Lewis County. Jason Walker was sentenced to five years of probation in April 2024 after pleading guilty to resisting arrest. Jason Walker also is on federal parole for previous drug violations.

Jason Walker is in the Clark County Jail on a $100,000.00 cash-only bond. Jaime Walker also is in the Clark County Jail with no bond authorized. 

The Missouri Department of Conservation assisted with this investigation. Further charges are pending.
