Missouri State Highway Patrol investigating Monday shooting involving Hannibal police officer
HANNIBAL, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol Division of Crime Control was contacted Monday to conduct an investigation into a shooting in the 1200 block of Center Street.
On Monday, March 6, at approximately 5:07 p.m., a police officer from the Hannibal Police Department reported to the 1200 block of Center Street for a report of a suspicious male subject who was possibly armed.
Upon arrival, the officer encountered a male subject near the street. During the encounter, the officer discharged their firearm at the suspect. No one was shot as a result, but the male was transported to Hannibal Regional Hospital for a medical evaluation.
