Motorcycle driver faces several charges after collision with truck in Pike County

PIKE COUNTY, Ill. — The drivers of two vehicles were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries after the collision of a motorcycle and a truck on Saturday afternoon.

The Illinois State Police District 20 reports a 2014 blue Harley Davidson motorcycle, driven by Bruce M. Huffman, 63, of Pleasant Hill, was traveling southbound on U.S. Route 54 near 192nd Avenue at 11:57 a.m. A 2000 gray Dodge pickup truck was traveling northbound. The male driver of the truck was not identified. Huffman’s motorcycle crossed into the northbound lane and sideswiped the truck. 

Huffman was cited for driving under the influence, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and improper lane usage.
