Pittsfield man dies after car he was driving went off bluff

MILTON, Ill. — William H. Farnsworth, 68, of Pittsfield died Saturday when a vehicle drove off an approximately 150-foot-high bluff northeast of Milton near the Illinois River.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Department received a call early Saturday evening about the crash, which was on private property. Shortly after the arrival of emergency personnel, Farnsworth, the driver of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Assisting at the scene was the East Pike Fire Department, the Pittsfield Fire Department, Pike County EMS and the Pike County Emergency Management Agency.
