Plea negotations continue in case where CUSD No. 4 school official was allegedly assaulted
A Mendon man charged with striking a school board member at a meeting of the Mendon School Board in September appeared in Adams County Circuit Court for a pre-trial hearing Friday morning.
Alex S. Felde, 30, and his attorney, Drew Schnack announced they were ready for trial. However, the State requested and received a continuance. Plea negotiations are continuing.
There will be a status hearing on the case June 15 and the case, for now, remains on the July jury docket.
On September 1 at 8:17 p.m., Adams County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a disturbance at the CUSD No. 4 Board of Education meeting located at Unity High School in Mendon.
Upon arrival at the scene, deputies learned Felde had been removed from the school and was allegedly involved in some type of physical altercation. Deputies learned Felde was previously present at the school board meeting and allegedly had been causing a disruption. School officials attempted to escort Felde out of the meeting, and he allegedly struck one of the school officials and left the school.
Felde is facing charges of aggravated battery of a school employee and aggravated battery in a public place. Both charges are Class 3 felonies. He remains free on bond after posting $750
