QPD searching for information about hit-and-run involving boy in Riverview Park on Saturday

QUINCY — The Quincy Police Department is searching for information about a hit-and-run incident involving a child.

Officers with the Quincy Police Department, as well as the Adams County Ambulance Service, were dispatched at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22 to Riverview Park, 1001 N. Second.  Upon arrival, officers met with a 7-year-old boy who had been struck by a vehicle.  He was transported to Blessing Hospital by ambulance. He was treated and later released. 

The investigation revealed the child was in the parking area on the west side of the Riverview Park and was walking eastbound. A silver or tan smaller size SUV was traveling northbound in the driving lane of the parking area and struck the child.  The vehicle then fled the scene without stopping to provide aid or information.  

QPD asks for anyone with information about this incident to call 217-228-4470. All three options are anonymous. You will be eligible for a reward if your information leads to an arrest in this matter.
