Roadside safety check held late Wednesday, early Thursday at Third and Maine

PITTSFIELD, Ill. — Lt. Jeff Schisler, Illinois State Police Interim District 20 Commander, announced the results of a roadside safety check held in Adams County. The check was conducted by District 20 officers at the intersection of Third and Maine in Quincy from late night Wednesday to early morning Thursday.

Alcohol and drug impairment is a factor in more than 30 percent of all fatal motor vehicle crashes in Illinois. Throughout the U.S., nearly 10,000 people die each year due to alcohol-impaired driving. Roadside safety checks are designed to keep roads safe by taking DUI offenders off the road. This project was funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
