Two found dead at rural West Point home

WEST POINT, Ill. — Two people were found dead Monday morning at a rural West Point home in Hancock County.

Sheriff Travis Duffy reports the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office received a call at 9:25 a.m. Monday regarding two fatalities. Deputies arrived on scene and discovered two bodies at the residence. 

The investigation is ongoing. Full information regarding the deceased remains pending full family notifications. 

Duffy said a preliminary investigation leads him to believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the safety of any other citizens.
