Ursa man charged with stealing vehicle
QUINCY — An Ursa man was arrested Friday in Quincy and charged with burglary of a motor vehicle.
Deputies with the Adams County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of Illinois 96 and N. 1850th Street to take a report of a stolen vehicle. After taking the report, the deputies learned a friend of the victim spotted the stolen vehicle on the north side of Quincy and had contacted Adams County Dispatch.
The friend of the victim continued to follow the stolen vehicle and update dispatch of the location. Officers with the Quincy Police Department located the stolen vehicle and conducted a traffic stop at 3:42 p.m. at the intersection of North 15th and Cedar. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Eric R. Glas, 37, of Ursa.
Glas was turned over to Adams County deputies on the scene and taken to the Adams County Jail, where he was lodged on the burglary charge as well as theft over $10,000 but less than a $100,000, criminal trespass to a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and driving while driver’s license is revoked.
