QUINCY- After months of anticipation the Raising Cane’s finally opened in Quincy at 3601 Broadway on Tuesday.

The self-proclaimed “Hidden Gem,” is anything but, with over a hundred people in line at the grand opening with it’s usual menu consisting of chicken, Texas toast, coleslaw and of course, famous Cane’s sauce. The new Quincy restaurant is open from 10 a.m. to 12 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday and 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Employee chants and music from a DJ filled the parking lot as hundreds of people waited in line in anticipation of the chicken finger restaurant’s grand opening.

“I am super excited, the towns been in need of a fantastic restaurant like this,” said Quincy resident Andrew Boll. “The town is growing, this will liven the city up.”

Raising Cane’s hosted a “Lucky 20,” raffle where 20 people present won free Cane’s for a year. A commemorative hat and free Box Combo card for the first 100 Customers to purchase a Combo.

“This was very well received by the community,” said Joel Donato, Area Leader of Restaurants. “120 were waiting in line for us with a few people camping overnight for some of these prizes.”

Joshua Hetzler was first in line. Hetzler camped out from 11:56 p.m. Monday to open to ensure that he was one of the first 100 to arrive.

“I was pretty excited as the moment kept coming to fruition,” said Hetzler. “This is a really cool moment that I get to be a part of.”

Raising Cane’s donated $1,000 to Quincy University athletics and had performances from the QU stunt team and Quincy Notre Dame pom squad.

“We’re already getting engaged in the community’s excellent schools and look forward to partnering with local not-for-profit organizations as part of our on-going commitment to giving back,” said Donato in a press release.

As the only Raising Cane’s within a two hour drive, the Quincy location brings over 100 jobs to the community.

The restaurant boasts a large outdoor and double lane drive through, ready to serve Quincy and the surrounding areas.
