Filing period for JWCC board candidates is Nov. 12-18; seats for two six-year terms are available

QUINCY — The dates for filing nominating petitions for a seat on the John Wood Community College Board of Trustees are Nov. 12 through Nov. 18.

Petitions must be filed in the office of the president on the second floor of the JWCC Student/Administrative Center on the campus at 48th and Harrison in Quincy. Hours for filing are Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to noon.

If necessary, a lottery will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, in the JWCC board room in the Student Administrative Center.

Any resident of the JWCC District interested in being a candidate for the board can obtain nominating petitions. Petitions are available in the same office.

Trustees are elected at-large from JWCC District 539. Two seats on the board will be filled in the consolidated election April 1.  The seats are for six-year terms. Trustees whose terms expire are Randy Greenwell and Andy Sprague. 

The election is conducted by the county clerk of each county in which JWCC is located.  Nominating petitions are obtained and filed at JWCC in Quincy.
