Macomb’s Small Business Saturday is Nov. 25
MACOMB, Ill. — The City of Macomb Downtown Development’s Small Business Saturday will be held Nov. 25.
Small Business Saturday is a marketing effort started by American Express as a way to promote small and independent businesses. The effort, started in 2010, has been endorsed by the U.S. Senate and is now championed in all 50 states. In 2021, 51 million shoppers participated and spent $20 billion on Small Business Saturday.
City of Macomb marketing and downtown development director Savannah Ballard said in a press release, “We are proud to have a wide variety of unique small businesses in the City of Macomb. Small Business Saturday gives local businesses an opportunity to be recognized and supported and to receive an economic boost. With 67 cents of every dollar spent in small businesses staying right here in our local community, it is important to support our small businesses this holiday season.”
