QUINCY — The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce is launching its inaugural Leadership Institute, a program aimed at educating and inspiring emerging leaders to actively participate in the Quincy and Adams County community.

Designed to cultivate leadership skills and community awareness, the Leadership Institute will empower participants to make a positive impact on the Quincy area.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, participants of the nine-month Leadership Institute will embark on a journey of personal and professional growth. Through a comprehensive curriculum, engaging community and business tours, and thought-provoking leadership discussions, emerging leaders will gain insights into current community issues and enhance their leadership capabilities.

In a press release, Bruce Guthrie, president/CEO of Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce, said, “The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute provides a platform for emerging leaders to enhance their leadership skills and grow their professional network. These future leaders will be immersed into the community to enhance their knowledge of local businesses and the critical issues facing our communities.”

Participants of the QACC Leadership Institute will engage in a class project that leverages their skills, knowledge and connections to benefit the community. This hands-on approach encourages participants to give back and make a meaningful difference in Quincy and Adams County.

The QACC Leadership Institute benefits participants and the entire community. By equipping emerging leaders with a well-rounded understanding of the community, fostering connections with business and community leaders and developing their personal leadership skills, the program creates a pipeline of high-quality leaders poised to tackle the challenges critical to Quincy’s future success. Local businesses stand to gain from the graduates’ expanded knowledge and enhances professional development.

“Through the QACC Leadership Institute, emerging leaders receive a comprehensive education on the issues impacting businesses and our community,” Guthrie said. “We hope to see graduates of the program assume various leadership roles within their communities, contributing to their growth and prosperity.”

The Leadership Institute monthly meetings will take place from noon to 4:30 p.m., typically on the second Tuesday of each month, starting Sept. 13 and continuing through May 24, 2024. Tuition scholarships are available for non-profit organizations, governmental employees and small businesses, ensuring inclusivity and broad participation.
