Nacke approved as new HPD Chief

HANNIBAL, Mo. — Hannibal has a new police chief. During Tuesday’s meeting, city council members approved the nomination of Lt. Jacob Nacke to succeed the retiring Lyndell Davis as Chief of Police.

Fire destroys Hannibal church

he Hannibal Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at the corner of Arch and Chestnut Tuesday morning. All stations responded and, upon arrival on scene, found heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the Hannibal True Church.

Salvation Army summer fan program begins June 13; cooling center locations reveal summer hours

The Salvation Army will again be collecting and distributing electric fans to those in need. Distribution of fans from its Family Services facilities, in both Quincy and Hannibal, will begin on June 13. Anyone living within the Quincy Area Command’s service area of Adams, Pike, & Brown Counties in Illinois, and Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Shelby, & Monroe Counties in Missouri are encouraged to apply.

Scarlet and Blue Auction raises more than $51,000 for Hannibal-LaGrange University

‘Ride Cool’ returns to Hannibal clinic on Saturday

Hannibal Ramp Park opens for summer hours on June 6

Summer hours for Ramp Park at Huckleberry Park will begin June 6. The park is for roller skates, roller blades, skateboards, bicycles and scooters. Ramp Park will be open noon to 8 p.m. every day, weather permitting. Cost is $3 for a daily admission and $40 for an annual pass. Helmets are required and there is an attendant on duty at all times. Each person must have a signed waiver and release of liability on file. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver.
