Miss Teen Adams County, Junior Miss Adams County crowned July 28 at Adams County Fair
MENDON, Ill. — The Adams County Fair was the host of the annual Miss Teen Adams County and Junior Miss Adams County pageant on July 28. Madelyn Ohnemus, 11, of Camp Point was selected as the 2022 Junior Miss Adams County, and Hailey McKinney of Liberty, 15, was selected as the 2022 Miss Teen Adams County.
Ohnemus, a daughter of Mike and Laura Ohnemus of Camp Point, will be a sixth grade student at Liberty Elementary School this fall. She is a member of the Burton Fliers 4-H Club. She enjoys playing volleyball and softball. She also enjoys sewing, reading, baking and spending time with her cousins and friends.
McKinney, a daughter of Adam and Erika McKinney of Liberty, will be a sophomore at Liberty High School in the fall. She plays volleyball and is on the Liberty High School cheerleading squad.
Nineteen girls between the ages of 7 and 11 competed to become the 2022 Junior Miss Adams County. Judges evaluated the contestants based on submitted questions and performance on stage. A closed door interview also was conducted with judges days before the pageant as well.

Runner-up for Junior Miss Adams County was Braylee Brackensick, 10, a daughter of Brock and Kesi Brackensick of Ursa. The Peoples’ Choice winner was Elliana Ohnemus, 8, a daughter of Jeff and Melissa Ohnemus of Ursa.
Madelyn Ohnemus takes home a wardrobe from Sassy Jo’s Boutique and gifts from Jennifer Tyler of Thirty-One bags, Expressions by Christine, TCBY and HyVee.
The Miss Teen Adams County runner-up was Aubrey Widmer of Quincy, 14, a daughter of Trudy and Mike Willis of Quincy. The Peoples’ Choice winner was Dakota Bowen, 15, a daughter of Trisha Erke and Brandon Bowen of Camp Point.
McKinney takes home a wardrobe from Sew in Style Boutique and gifts from Jennifer Tyler, of Thirty-One bags, Expressions by Christine and HyVee.
Texas Roadhouse, TCBY and Autumn Harvest Farms made gifts to all participants.
