Registration open for ‘Pink Pass it On in the District’ 5k walk on Oct. 22

QUINCY — Registration is now open for the 16th annual “Pink Pass It On in the District” 5K walk for breast cancer awareness on Saturday, Oct. 22 in Washington Park.

Walkers are asked for a minimum $25 donation. Each participant will receive a t-shirt. Children under 12 can walk for free. Registration is accepted up to and on the day of the walk. Registration forms are available at www.pinkpassiton.com.

Pre-registered walkers can pick up their shirts on Friday, Oct. 21, on the Sixth Street Promenade (between Maine and Hampshire) from 2-6 p.m. Window clings and “In Honor Of” buttons will be available for purchase.

Registration will start at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, with speakers at 9:30 a.m. The walk, which begins after speakers address those gathered, goes up and back Maine Street, concluding back in the park.

Several drawings will be held at the park immediately after the walk. Participants must be present to win.

Proceeds from the walk support the Blessing Breast Center Specific Purpose Fund, which is available to patients with a medical need but lacking the finances to address the need on their own and all community resources have been exhausted.
