Action Brown County to hold ‘Night at the Races’ fundraising event April 26 at KC Hall

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — Action Brown County (ABC) will hold its annual “Night at the Races” event Saturday, April 26, at the KC Hall in Mount Sterling. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with the first race commencing at 7 p.m.
Attendees can expect a lineup of 10 televised races. An official race program will be provided, allowing guests to study the contenders and make informed bets. A live race announcer will provide commentary.
Guests can bet on races using play money, adding an element of friendly competition to the event. People, groups or businesses can “own” a horse for a race. If all horses are sold, the owner of a winning horse will receive $250.
Businesses or organizations can sponsor a race for $100, providing an excellent opportunity for promotion.
No prior horse racing or betting knowledge is necessary. A tutorial will be provided before the races begin. Attendees must be 21 years of age or older.
In a press release, ABC executive director Alex Geisler said, “A Night at the Races is one of our most exciting events of the year, bringing the community together for a fun-filled evening while supporting a great cause. Whether you’re a seasoned racing fan or a first-time participant, it’s a thrilling experience for everyone. We can’t wait to see the energy, excitement and friendly competition as we raise funds to support Action Brown County’s mission.”

Premium tables are available for $500, offering admission for eight guests and a reserved table at the front. VIP tables include eight admissions, best seat in the house, full table service with private server and commemorative glass for attendees.
All proceeds from the event will benefit Action Brown County’s mission of inspiring community, celebrating Hornet spirit and promoting economic growth.
