Adams County Health Department offering flu clinics; first clinic scheduled for Thursday
QUINCY — The Adams County Health Department, along with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), recommends an annual flu vaccination for everyone six months and older.
The Adams County Health Department is offering six public flu clinics throughout the community. A preregistration option for all community flu clinics is offered this year. People can call from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday before the clinic to get registered. COVID-19 vaccines for adults will be offered at all community flu clinics this year.
The schedule for community flu clinics is as follows:
- Thursday, Sept. 26 — Ursa Farmers Cooperative Administrative Office, 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. 2397 Highway 96 N., Ursa
- Sunday, Sept. 29 — John Wood Community College Drive-Thru, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1301 S. 48th, Quincy
- Wednesday, Oct. 2 — Liberty High School, 3 to 5 p.m., 505 N. Park, Liberty
- Tuesday, Oct. 8 — Payson Elementary School, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., 404 W. State, Payson
- Wednesday, Oct. 16 — Unity Elementary School, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., 136 W. Washington, Mendon
- Thursday, Oct. 24 — Central High School, 4 to 7 p.m., 2110 Highway 94 N., Camp Point
The flu vaccine is $35 and $85 for a high dose. The high-dose flu vaccine is available for people 65 and older. Most insurances offer a $0 co-pay. The Adams County Health Department can bill most insurance, Illinois Medicaid and Medicare at community flu clinics and at the health department. Bring insurance cards.
