Adams County flu vaccine clinics scheduled for several sites in September and October

QUINCY — The Adams County Health Department, along with the Illinois Department of Public Health and the Centers for Disease Control, is recommending an annual flu vaccination for everyone six months and older.

Flu vaccine is currently available at the Adams County Health Department. Immunizations are available Monday–Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on a walk-in basis. New this year, the health department also will be offering the pneumococcal vaccine for eligible individuals at all community flu clinics.

The schedule for community flu clinics is as follows:

Sunday, September 25
John Wood Community College: 1301 S. 48th, Quincy, drive-thru clinic 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Monday, October 3
Liberty Elementary School: 505 N. Park, Liberty, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, October 11
Community for Christ Assistance Center: 113 E. Jefferson, Camp Point, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Thursday, October 13
Payson Seymour Elementary School: 404 W. State, Payson, 3:30 -5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, October 19
Central High School: 2110 Hwy. 94 N, Camp Point, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

Clincs with dates still to be determined will be held at Unity Elementary School and the Quincy Senior Center

The cost for the flu vaccine is $35 or $72 for high dose. High dose flu vaccine also is available for individuals 65 and older. Most insurance offers a $0 co-pay.

The Adams County Health Department can bill most insurance, Illinois Medicaid and Medicare at community flu clinics as well as at the health department. Those receiving the vaccine should bring their insurance cards.
