Accident on Kellerville Blacktop kills one, injures one

At 10:30 Thursday morning, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office responded to a traffic crash on North 1200th Ave and East 2200 St. This location is more commonly known as on the Kellerville Blacktop, about 3 miles east of Highway 104. 

Upon arrival deputies notice that there was a collision between a large dump truck and a utility truck that was pulling a trailer with an excavator on it.  Both trucks had only a driver inside.   The driver of the dump truck was transported by Air Evac Helicopter to Springfield, Illinois. The driver of the utility truck was pronouced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have identified the deceased as Curtis Lieurance, 55, of Mendon.

ACSO is requesting that motorists take an alternate route as N 1200^th Ave (Kellerville Blacktop)will be closed for several hours.

ACSO was assisted in this investigation by the Quincy Police Department Traffic Crash Reconstructionist Officer and Illinois State Police Commercial Truck Inspector.  The crash is still under investigation.
