Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics resumes

009

Members of the Quincy Police Department and the Adams County Sheriff’s Department took a quick two-mile run down Bonansinga Drive Monday morning for the Law Enforcement Torch Run to support the 2021 Special Olympics Illinois Virtual Summer Games.

The Torch Run didn’t happen last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic and virtual events are being held this year.

In the past, participants would start at Transitions of Western Illinois’ 48th Street location and run to the Adams County/Hancock County line then have lunch with Special Olympics athletes back in Quincy.
