UPDATE: Advocacy Network for Children’s human trafficking training cancelled
EDITOR’S NOTE: This event has been cancelled for “reasons outside of our control,” Diane Pieper, executive assistant for Advocacy Network for Children, said in a note to Muddy River News on Wednesday morning. “We received word yesterday that the team at Truckers Against Trafficking pulled out due to mechanical issues with their Freedom Drivers truck.”
QUINCY — Advocacy Network for Children, together with the Central Illinois Human Trafficking Taskforce and Truckers Against Trafficking, is sponsoring a human trafficking awareness training from 9-11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 2, at Madison Park Christian Church, 4700 Broadway. The training is free and breakfast will be provided. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m.
The course will provide participants with the tools on how law enforcement and the transportation industry can work together to identify human trafficking and respond effectively. The Freedom Drivers Project, a first-of-its-kind mobile exhibit educating about the realities of domestic sex trafficking, will be on site for tours.
Seating is limited and priority given to law enforcement and transportation personnel.
For more information on the training or to reserve a seat, contact Jamie Carroll at jcarroll@advonet.org.
