American Legion Post 37 needs volunteers to help place, remove flags for Memorial Day weekend
QUINCY — American Legion Post 37 of Quincy is asking for volunteers to help place and remove flags by each veteran’s headstone at Sunset Cemetery for Memorial Day weekend.
Placement will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, and removal will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30. In case of rain, dates will be postponed to Thursday, May 25, and Wednesday, May 31, respectively.
Sunset Cemetery’s main entrance is on U.S. 24 just east of Knapheide Equipment Company on North Fifth Street. Volunteers should come to the maintenance building upon arrival for brief instructions. No prior notice is required.
