Blessed Sacrament School to offer free summer lunches to children on south side of Quincy
QUINCY — Blessed Sacrament Catholic School will offer free lunches to all children up to age 18 living on the south side of Quincy beginning Monday, June 12, and continuing through Friday, Aug. 4. Serving time will be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. No registration is required.
Lunches will be available Monday thru Friday from the school entrance located in the alley off Eighth Street between the school and the church.
To help fight hunger in communities, the U.S. Department of Agriculture provides funding to school districts to continue to provide meals during the summer. The federally funded program provides free meals to anyone ages 18 and younger. Enrollment in the program or school is not required; children simply have to show up to the sites to get meals.
For more information or any questions, call meal coordinator Chris Wiemelt at 217-440-5675.
