Blessing-Rieman expands direct transfer degree option

QUINCY — People with completed college credits can earn a four-year healthcare degree from Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Health Sciences in Quincy in as little as two years.

The college has expanded its direct transfer option for a bachelor of science degree to include radiologic sciences and respiratory care, as well as its nursing program — where the option has been in place for a number of years.

The direct transfer option allows people with completed pre-requisite and general education courses from another educational institution to enter directly in to Blessing-Rieman College and complete their degree in 2-3 years. Students begin nursing or health sciences classes right away in their first year with Blessing-Rieman. They also will receive hands-on clinical experience and participate in simulations at the Blessing-Rieman College Simulation Center.

In a press release, Brenda Beshears, president and CEO, said “This is an excellent opportunity to complete your degree without being on a waitlist. This option offers a seamless entry.”

Radiologic sciences and respiratory care classes begin in August. The nursing program offers start dates in August and January.

For more information about these program options, contact the Blessing-Rieman College Admissions Office at 217-228-5520, ext. 6949 or atadmissions@brcn.edu.
