Rich with German roots, the Midwest mindset yearns to quench the thirst for that refreshing euphoria. Life on our river town is know for it’s drink culture. Birthday parties, church picnics, concerts, and a night on the town: every event revolves around the perfect beverage.

With “a bar on every corner” and an eventful post-Covid calendar, it might be difficult to find the best drink but I am up for the challenge.

Calling all bartenders…the #Qmunity is thirsty. And what sets the vibe better than a beverage? The Vibe is looking to award your cocktail with the Muddy Mississippi Mixer. A mouthful. Just like your masterpieces, I’m sure of it. This area is full of mixology talent galore. It’s in our blood. Or the river water…

So if you are a bartender (you must be currently employed as a bartender), and would like to mix your best, or you know a bartender you would like to nominate to take a shot, or just spotlight the bar that you work at: (This isn’t mixology science – I won a best bartender contest by calling Jose Cuervo shots with a mountain dew chaser a “margarita in your mouth.”)

My “Margarita in your Mouth”

The Muddy River Vibe will interview the top 3 bartenders and let the reader’s decide with a vote for the 2021 Muddy Mississippi Mix award, bragging rights, and a $100 gift certificate towards any local bar or restaurant of the winner’s choice.

Send your nominations to me at bboll@muddyrivernews.com. We’ll post the nominees on Muddy River Vibe and the contest will be on!

“Did we just become best friends?”

Cheers.

Later!
