City of Quincy, First Bankers Trust offering workshop about securing public gatherings on Thursday
QUINCY — City Treasurer Linda Moore and First Bankers Trust Company are presenting a workshop about securing public gatherings at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 23 at City Council chambers, 730 Maine.
Non-profit organizations and community event planners will get information, education and instruction to improve security at area community events and training needed to increase safety for the community.
Steve Lyddon, a cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency protective security advisor, will be the guest speaker. Lyddon, a Navy veteran with a master of arts in homeland security and concentration in weapons of mass destruction from the American Military University, has more than 32 years of experience in law enforcement and intelligence. He worked for the Illinois State Police, SWAT, ISP Academy, the statewide Terrorism and Intelligence Center and as a Freedom of Information Act officer and executive officer of the Illinois State Police legal office.
Adam Yates, chief of the Quincy Police Department, and Moore also are scheduled to speak.
First Bankers Trust Company is sponsoring the presentation and providing a light lunch. The presentation will be available by the city IT team via Zoom.
