Clarity Healthcare receives state designation that creates more access to mental health care

QUINCY — Clarity Healthcare, 639 York, Suite 212, recently became designated by the state of Illinois as a community mental health center, a specialty service provider with knowledge and expertise in providing services to adults with or at risk of serious mental illnesses. They are designed to serve the mental health needs of a community. In this case, Clarity Healthcare clients and underserved populations in the community will benefit from two new services — community support and case management.

Community support services consist of therapeutic interventions that facilitate illness self-management, identification and use of natural supports, and skill building.  Case management is a service that generally entails communication between providers involved with service to a person. It also may include coordination and advocacy services for people who need multiple services and require assistance, and it may also aid in transition with living arrangements.

“With the addition of this state designation, Clarity Healthcare has expanded our wraparound services making it possible to serve clients in one location,” Stacey Julifs, executive director of Clarity Healthcare, said in a press release. “Previously, if anyone was seeing a psychiatric provider or therapist and needed case management, clients had to be referred elsewhere.”

With the addition of these services, Clarity Healthcare’s Quincy locations can serve people in need of:

• Primary care and preventive health
• Psychiatric services
• Counseling services
• Health insurance and benefits assistance
• Addiction medicine services
• Substance use disorder program
• Community support services
• Case management

Clarity’s new designation, at its York Street location, creates more access and options for care.

The integrated healthcare setting will see the addition of more credentialed staff to provide the new services. Integrated healthcare is designed with convenience for the client in mind. It is typically when multiple professionals are in one place, so clients don’t have to navigate scheduling and transportation to different locations. It means the multidisciplinary team can communicate more easily to deliver high-quality care.
