‘Cop on a Rooftop’ set for Friday morning at Dunkin’ to benefit Special Olympics Illinois

QUINCY — The 19th annual “Cop on a Rooftop” event is set for 5 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 19. Law enforcement officials will be stationed at more than 300 participating Dunkin’ locations across Illinois, collecting money for Special Olympics Illinois.

Quincy law enforcement will be on the rooftop at Dunkin’s 2602 Broadway location to raise funds and awareness for the Special Olympics athletes.

Dunkin’ also will have the lobby open for this event. Donations also will be accepted at the drive-thru window. Dunkin’ guests who donate will receive a coupon for a free donut. Guests who donate $10 or more will receive a commemorative travel mug and a coupon for a free medium hot coffee. Any local business making a $100 donation will have a dozen donuts delivered to their location by law enforcement

Torch Run shirts will be sold. Checks should be made payable to Special Olympics IL. Cash and credit cards also will be accepted.

The goal is to raise $3,000 for Special Olympics athletes.
