Court Appointed Special Advocates swears in eight volunteers in Adams County

QUINCY — Eight CASA volunteers, along with staff member Kari Frink, were sworn in on Thursday, Sept. 22, by Judge John Wooleyhan at the Adams County Courthouse.

Volunteers who were sworn in were Pat Bell, Melissa Hess, Maureen Kennedy, Theresa McGartland, Whitney Mintert, Les Sachs, Kearstin Sill and Kim Wright.

CASA volunteers are trained community volunteers appointed by a judge to speak up for abused or neglected children in the Adams County court system. The newly sworn-in volunteers received 30 hours of training which included courtroom procedures, working with social service agencies and the special needs of abused and neglected children.
